Her Majesty the Queen awards SMC with the Queen’s Award for International Trade 2018

SMC are extremely proud to have been awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade 2018.

This represents a remarkable achievement for SMC, a small family owned business headquartered in Hunmanby, North Yorkshire.

The award is recognition of the outstanding performance of SMC’s staff over the past eleven years. SMC has successfully exported expert services globally; most recently this has included China, Taiwan and Canada, in addition to much of Europe.

Over a period of eleven years, SMC has grown from a one man operation into a thriving company consisting of over one hundred members of personnel, increasing its share and range of specialist services in the renewable energy sector after diversifying a number of services from the Oil and Gas exploration sector.

Ian Coates, Manging Director:

“This is the proudest moment in the history of SMC so far. I must personally thank all SMC staff past and present for their outstanding contribution and for the professional manner in which they have conducted and continue to conduct themselves, and their work scopes and operations with the highest adherence to safety and quality. I must also give very special thanks to the Clients that have supported and facilitated SMC’s capacity to grow and export services around the Globe. We would especially like to thank Orsted, Siemens Gamesa, GE, Adwen, Scottish Power, EMGS, PGS and CGG for their continued support and belief in SMC’s personnel and services. It’s a fantastic feeling for a small British company from the North of England to win such recognition. We would also like to thank Yorkshire Bank and HSBC for their backing and support”.
