SMC was established in 2006 by Captain Ian Coates. In its early days, the company’s sole remit was the provision of Vessel Inspections to the Oil and Gas sector. Over the last eleven years the business has grown rapidly and now provides a vast range of specialist services and personnel across the Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind and Utilities sectors.
In June 2017 the company reached a significant milestone and now contracts over one hundred people. The strong and stable growth of the company is testament to SMC’s relentless commitment to high standards throughout.
SMC are global leaders in offshore solutions, providing project services and personnel worldwide throughout the energy sector. The company has delivered 1,704 Vessel inspections and completed over 1 Million Safe Transfers since 2006, with this rising daily.
